Sara Park

Sara Park was born in Busan, South Korea in 1965. She graduated from the Art Department of the University of East Asia in 1989 and moved to Shanghai in 1995. After she arrived in Shanghai, she studied ink painting with Mr. Mu Yilin for three years and later on moved on to painting oil paintings. However, she had unintentionally brought her experience of Chinese calligraphy and ink painting into her oil paintings.

In the midst of all this, she got married, raised children, and did many other professions, but she never gave up in being an artist. From holding her first solo exhibition in Busan, South Korea in 1994 to holding her fourth solo exhibition at the Pullman Shanghai Star in 2015, to holding her fifth solo exhibition this year in Moganshan50 (2016, 5, 19-7, 10). As well as her participations in group exhibitions held in Shanghai, Busan, Paris, Beijing, Seoul, Hong Kong, Japan and other places over the years, Sarah Park is able to be said to be a person who refuses to put down her brush regardless of what happened. Being a painter is her fate and destiny.
